Wii U Selling Out Online

Wii U Selling Out Online

Following Nintendo’sĀ  long-awaited announcement on pricing and availability last week, most retailers opened up pre-orders, letting fans ensure they would get the system on Nov. 18. Within days, though, Best Buy , Toys R Us , Sears, Kmart and Target had stopped taking those pre-orders.

GameStopĀ  has sold out of its pre-order allotment of the higher-priced Deluxe Wii U, though the $299 Basic version is still in stock.

Even Wal-Mart hasn’t been able to keep up with demand. Both SKUs are sold out on a standalone basis-though it is still offering a store bundle (which includes a Wii U game and a Wii remote for an extra $50).

Promising start for Nintendo.

  1. It’s a good sign

Well I’m not surprised it sold out, considering that nintendo has had good launches, except for the 3DS, for almost every system they made. It’s also a heck of a deal! 300-350 is very good considering what it offers you.

  3. the 3ds was pretty amazing except the fact there wernt many games. other than that its very cool!

Wal-Mart has it severely overpriced, just saying.

  5. I was going to pre-order, but 2 hours later when I was ready, Walmart sold out and I am very angry.

  6. I am one of the ones who had to pre-order the more pricey bundle from Wal-Mart. I wished I could have gotten it at a cheaper price, but regardless. I had a lot of cash to blow. So I await my system, and 6 games :-)

  7. Not too thrilled that I open up my Wii U for the first time and it doensn’t work. Thanks Nintendo for screwing up my kid’s Christmas!
