Nintendo Deny $100 Price for Wii U games

Although the Wii U has yet to be given a definitive price, online retailers such as Amazon and Gamestop have gone ahead and priced a number of Wii U titles (Pikmin 3, , Just Dance 4 and Lego City Undercover) at $100. Nintendo hit out at the claims in an official statement:

“Retailers are beginning their presale activity, but given there is no official software price, they are using fictitious prices,” an official Nintendo spokesperson said. “When software pricing is officially announced later this year, I am sure retailers will adjust their websites to reflect the true price.”

Good news!

They are definitely not going to be £60/$100 unless nintendo want to go out of business! x

I don’t personally think Nintendo would use the Neo*Geo method by hiking the games to $100, Lisa. There’s a great possibility they will price the Wii U games between $49.99 and $59.99 US.

  2. RockD79 says:

These are just placeholders from retailers. Take them like a grain of salt. Nintendo has already made it clear last week that they have had no discussions with retailers regarding Wii U prices yet.

Lmao 100$ for a game sounds like bs to me

  4. Wii U Prophet says:

We want good things for the Wii U, and of late that has been becoming true. I was a little doubtful before but now I am certain this will be a great system. Wii U is going to be revolutionary. Nintendo is great because it creates new ways to play. Most the early Nintendo systems were great because of their good playing value. Then there was the Game Boy, which was a great new system that allowed portability with the great games you liked. Then there was GameCube, rival to the Xbox for its great power and again, great gaming value. Newer systems have brought new things to the gaming world. The Nintendo DS, like a Game Boy, had great portable power but with more juice and better controls. The Nintendo DSi surpassed it with adding internet. And the Nintendo 3DS brought all that plus 3D. The Wii has brought the world of motion-control to gaming. Now Nintendo is trying to take the best of what people liked and make something out of that. Now you see Sony copying the Wii with Playstation Move and stuff. But Nintendo rules in the end. Because they try. Love the Wii U and Nintendo because they try.

  6. Over a month and still no update?

  7. 100$ is too much for a game no matter what console it’s for.

  8. Stacy Burns says:

Actually, the Neo Geo’s games sold for around $200.
